Party at the Parrot Zoo
Staff in the School of Life Sciences had a Christmas party with a difference this year, as they visited the Parrot Zoo in Friskney.
The School has close links with the National Parrot Sanctuary at Friskney, which is now probably the largest Parrot Sanctuary in the World with over 1700 birds residing at the centre, and is the only one in the United Kingdom to offer long term sanctuary for all its residents. Students on animal programmes at the University of Lincoln have the opportunity to get involved in project work within the sanctuary.
Approximately 50 members of staff and post-doctorate researchers travelled to Friskney on December 14th for a Christmas lunch, and an opportunity to see the parrots, other birds, and indeed other species housed at the zoo.
