A new planning guide for emergencies in higher education institutions has been written by Dr Lucy Easthope, from the School of Life Sciences.
The document ‘Resilience in Higher Education’ aims to provide information, advice and resources.
It has been reviewed and updated from original guidance funded by HEFCE and was launched on 30th July 2014 by the Association of Chief Security Officers (AUCSO).
The guide provides information, advice and resources to help those with responsibilities in developing an emergency response. It will be launched in Scotland on Wednesday 17th September.
The first edition was very well received across the world, with thanks coming from the Director of the University of Canterbury’s Centre for Risk, Resilience and Renewal in New Zealand for the creation of the guide.
Dr Easthope, an expert in mass fatality disasters, is the technical author of both versions.
